Jonathan Zimet, rabbi and musician, has led programs at National Havurah Committee Institutes, synagogues, Hillels, and more. He draws on his background to make music and folk cultures come alive: making nusach (melodies) accessible to lay people; opening our Zemirot’s (traditional songs) rich allegories to the wider public with an English commentary he is writing. His choral programs, featuring diverse music, led to annual Shir Hashirim songfests with music from unexpectedly diverse sources.
