I am a retired professor of law, bioethics, and Jewish and religious studies at the University of Wisconsin. I have long been associated with the havurah movement, and consider myself post-denominational with a philosophical leaning toward Reconstructionism. (My daughter Talya is a Reconstructionist rabbi.) I moved this past year to the Washington, DC area, specifically Bethesda, to be closer to my son Ari and his famly, and to enable me to live a richer Jewish life. The pandemic has made a hash of that. I would like to expand my circle of Jewish friends in the Bethesda/ Washington area once conditions make that possible. I have some health issues that make me extremely vulnerable to Covid-19, so I have to be very careful.
