Julie Wolkoff

Rabbi Julie Wolkoff was ordained from the New York campus of HUC-JIR (1982), where she also earned her Doctor of Ministry in 1996. She serves as a hospice chaplain with Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home in the Greater Boston area. Prior to moving into hospice work in 2007, she was the Director of Judaic Activities and a faculty member at Gann Academy in Waltham, MA. Her first position after ordination was as the rabbi of Congregation Berith Sholom in Troy, NY. She later served as the Director of Chaplaincy Services for the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York coordinating and providing outreach to Jewish residents at non-Jewish nursing homes. She also worked for a visiting nurse agency as an AIDS Care Team Coach in New York’s Capital District, working with 17 congregational based care teams spanning nine Christian and Jewish denominations.
She is a past president of the Capital District Board of Rabbis and a past Co-President of the WRN.
In her spare time she enjoys knitting, quilting, and gardening. She has a quilt, “New Year’s Eve: St. Martin.” in "Creative Quilting: The Journal Quilt Project", published in 2006.
She is blessed to be the Savta of two wonderful grandchildren.
